Rachel Burns '24
Rachel Burns (firstname.lastname@example.org) is a sophomore from Maine planning on majoring in Political Science with a potential minor in Italian. From afar, she participated in ThirdSpace’s BUILD Barnard and tutored. She looks forward to the opportunities that will present themselves on campus! Rachel is passionate about social justice, languages, and fashion. In her free time, she can be found sewing, cooking and picnicking with friends, or meandering through the city in search of adventure or bubble tea!
Linda Chen '23
Linda Chen (email@example.com) is a junior from New York planning on majoring in Political Science with a potential minor in English. On-campus, she works with the SGA Committee on Sustainability to create sustainable development initiatives, is a campus ambassador for The Women's Network, and recently joined Matriculate's team of Advising Fellows, an organization focused on supporting and empowering high-achieving, low-income high school students with the college application process. She is passionate about nonprofit work, especially at the grassroots level, and has previously worked with several local NGOs in her community. When she has a moment to spare, Linda can be spotted doodling on the Barnard lawn (or just any place with grass), playing tennis in Riverside Park, or editing her Spotify playlists!
Chianna Cohen '22
Chianna Cohen (firstname.lastname@example.org) is a senior from Western Massachusetts majoring in Computer Science and East Asian Studies. She has been part of the former Athena Scholars program for the past three years and is excited to see the new directions the Athena Center will take. In addition to SAB, she is on the board of Columbia Womxn in Computer Science, Barnard Bookworms, and the Asian American Alliance. In her free time, she loves exploring new places to eat in the city and learning new styles of dance.
Christina Graham '23
Christina Graham (email@example.com) is a junior studying Sociology and Hellenic studies. She is from San Francisco, California! Christina is a Business Associate for The Columbia Daily Spectator and is also a tutor and college counselor. She loves studying the sociology of education, as well as education policy. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her friends, cook, and play music!
Julia Hyman '22
Julia Hyman (firstname.lastname@example.org) is a senior majoring in Urban Studies with a concentration in Sociology. She is from Guilford, Connecticut, and enjoys hiking and spending time in her hammock. On-campus, she is a costume designer for The 126th Annual Varsity Show, a setter for the Club Volleyball team, and a mentor for local high school students through the MyNYC program. In her spare time, she can be found cooking with friends or trying to learn how to skateboard in Riverside Park.
Annabelle Jack '23
Annabelle Jack (email@example.com) is a junior from Seattle, Washington majoring in Economics (on the political track) and minoring in Mathematical Sciences. She is also a Writing Fellow, on the CWBS Conference committee, and is involved in various social impact research projects. In her spare time, she can be found walking in Riverside Park or browsing any of the amazing museums in the city.
Annabel Kelly '22
Annabel Kelly (firstname.lastname@example.org) is a senior from Katonah, New York, and is majoring in political science. On campus, she is an editor for the Columbia Political Review, a dancer in Orchesis, and a member of Alpha Omicron Pi. In her spare time, she enjoys learning how to be more sustainable by sewing her own clothes, doing yoga, and discovering new coffee shops around the city.
Madeleine Morales '22 (she/her)
Madeleine Morales (email@example.com) is a senior hailing from Cincinnati, OH double majoring in Political Science and Spanish & Latin American Studies, minoring in Psychology. In addition to the SAB, she is involved in Athena Pre-Law Society, Kappa Alpha Theta, and Columbia Cheerleading. This semester, Madeleine is doing legal research for the Ohio Justice and Policy Center on human trafficking policies and outcomes, as her passions of social justice, public health, and the law intersect. Madeleine is an avid spinner at SoulCycle and runner in Central Park.
Anjali Ramakrishnan '23
Anjali Ramakrishnan (firstname.lastname@example.org) is a junior/second-semester freshman masquerading as a junior since the pandemic has messed with her already poor perception of time. She is a sociology major who clams up when asked to define what exactly sociology is but loves it nonetheless. After having a wonderful time interning at the Athena Center over the summer (2021), she joined SAB with the hopes of continuing to create programming for Barnard students. In her free time, she stresses out about the fate of fictional characters and procrastinates on the patio by Uris Hall, or, if she is feeling adventurous, at the Hungarian Pastry Shop.
Dipashreya Sur '23
Dipashreya Sur (email@example.com) is a junior potentially majoring in Architecture with a concentration in Mathematics. On-Campus, she dances with Columbia Taal an Indian Classical Dance Team, builds websites with the Athena Digital Design Agency, and volunteers with the Community Lunch Soup Kitchen on Fridays. She is very passionate about dance and tries to take a new dance class every semester at Barnard. So far she has taken Dances of India and Afro-Cuban Dance. In her spare time, she can be found editing pictures on VSCO for her food Instagram or relaxing by drawing in her sketchbook.
