Alexandria Goodson (she/her) is a 2-time Emmy-winning writer and producer for Good Morning America, the co-founder and co-manager of the GMA Book Club, and a published author. After starting her journalism career as a local news producer in Albany, New York, Alex joined the GMA family in 2015 as an entry-level Script Coordinator. A few months later, she was promoted to Robin Roberts’ Live and Field Producer, a role she maintained for three and a half years.
On the ground alongside Robin, Alex covered the Oscars, a Presidential Inauguration, Hurricane Maria devastation in Puerto Rico, Super Bowl 50, and Harry and Meghan’s Royal Wedding. Alex created two seasons of a podcast called “Everybody’s Got Something” with Robin Roberts, which was nominated for an award.
In November 2018, she joined the Good Morning America Writing Department, where she currently researches, writes, and produces segments with high-profile celebrities and newsmakers. She co-founded and co-manages the nationally recognized GMA Book Club, where more than 20 of the monthly picks have been instant New York Times Best Sellers.
Alex is also a published author and poet and the Atlanta Review’s 2024 International Merit Award Winner for poetry. Her poems can also be found in Sonora Review, Tulsa Review, Cathexis Northwest Press, and her fiction can be found in Beyond Queer Words. She lives in Brooklyn with her dog Bucatini, loves 50/50 gin martinis, Joni Mitchell, and playing pool.
