Special Opportunities

Enrichment Programs:

Each year, Athena plans a variety of events that help Athena Scholars get to know one another and feel connected to the program.  They include parties, faculty-student dinners, opportunities to visit various organizations and meet with women leaders, senior project presentations, tickets to charity dinners, and more.

Program temporarily on hold for the 2018-2019 academic year. Discretionary conference funding may still be available.  Email Sarit Abramowicz, Administrative Director, Student Programs at sabramow@barnard.edu for information.

In addition the Athena Center is a member of the Washington, D.C. based Public Leadership Education Network (PLEN), the only national organization with the sole focus of preparing college women for leadership in the public policy arena. Through introducing college women to role models, career paths, and skills trainings before they enter the workforce, PLEN’s mission is to increase the number of women in top leadership positions influencing all aspects of the public policy process.  Through our membership, students at Barnard receive discounted seminar and registration fees.  Athena Scholars interested in attending PLEN workshops should contact Sarit Abramowicz at sabramow@barnard.edu Non-Athena Scholars should contact Barnard's Career Development Office at ocd@barnard.edu
