Columbia Venture Community Event - Start Up Bootcamp

Co-sponsored by the Athena Center and CVC
September 15th, 2012
1:30 PM - 6:00 PM
James Room, Barnard Hall: 3009 Broadway

A small but growing number of Columbia and Barnard students are becoming curious about startups, but have no idea where to start or who to reach out to. On Saturday, September 15th, join CU alumni and recent graduates currently working in startups, technology, and venture capital for an afternoon of talks about startup life:

  • Why startups? Why not startups?
  • Why entrepreneurship matters to Columbia
  • Debunking myths and misconceptions
  • Startup vs. corporate life
  • Available opportunities and how to break in

Registration is free! Also, free food and startup swag (because everyone loves American Apparel tees and stickers!)
**Sign up here**

The goal of the event is to introduce students to recent, relatable grads and generally awesome people who love what they do; to introduce them to a community and a career path that they may not have known about, and that may be equally fitting and fulfilling to them; and to fill a big void left by traditional career education.
