The work of the entrepreneur – starting something new, recruiting team members, and driving value creation and growth – takes incredible mental fortitude. This stress, exacerbated by a culture that promotes constant hustling, can take a significant toll, causing loneliness, depression, and poor health. In this session, special guest Kathleen Stetson will lead a discussion on how entrepreneurs can grow and thrive as individuals while cranking on their startups. Participants will come away with tools for building self-awareness, so they can work through stress more easily and make better decisions for themselves and their startups. Open to aspiring and emerging women and nonbinary entrepreneurs from Barnard and Columbia (current students). No RSVP is required! About Athena Entrepreneurs Athena Entrepreneurs is a community of aspiring and emerging women and nonbinary entrepreneurs from Barnard and Columbia who gather regularly to further develop their ideas. We believe entrepreneurship is a powerful way to make change in the world. Here, you’ll find space to meet collaborators, work together and get support, and make the kind of impact you want to make. In meetups: Work on your ventures — or just learn more about entrepreneurship. Athena’s Director of Applied Learning & Entrepreneurship and Athena’s Entrepreneur-In-Residence are here to help. Connect with our guests — experienced entrepreneurs, investors, and more — who drop by to share tips and insights from their own entrepreneurial journey and stick around afterward for one-on-one conversations with students. Visit our website to see who our fall 2021 guests are. No registration is required, so drop by for one or all — it’s up to you! Can’t make it, or want more help? Emailor dsharma@barnard.edu to sign up for office hours. We can chat about your idea as well as help you navigate the many resources available through our partner, Columbia Entrepreneurship, and throughout New York City.
