What is the practicum?
A ten week reflective assessment program that enables Scholars to reflect on their internship experience and their own personal, professional, and leadership development. It is a valuable opportunity to think meaningfully about identity and values and how those may (or may not) be reflected in the workplace. Through individual and team challenges, participants are prompted to consider the dynamics of office culture and develop strategies to address any challenges they confront.
Peer to Peer connection:
Participants meet in person and virtually (summer) with fellow participants to discuss and share internship experience.
Prerequisites:
Students must first complete two Skill Builders before participating in a practicum. The practicum must be completed before the fall semester of senior year. Scholars will not be able to register for the senior seminar if not completed.
Program Benefits:
Participants have an opportunity to set goals and process what they are observing with respect to leadership in the workplace. They can maximize the learning through the challenge prompts. Their network is expanded through challenges that encourage them to connect with colleagues as well as get to know fellow Scholars better through group challenges.
Participants benefit from learning from the experience of their peers.
