The Athena Visiting Scholars Program brings a variety of women leaders with experience and expertise to the Athena Center in order to meet and support our Athena Scholars. Athena Visiting Scholars also to contribute to and enrich the Barnard community’s vision of women's leadership. While at the Center, the Visiting Scholar will meet with students and center staff. She will also delivers a lecture as part of our Power Talks, sharing with others in the Barnard community her expertise in her field, as well as in women’s leadership.
In January 2011, the Athena Center welcomed its first Athena Visiting Scholar: Professor Frances X. Frei, the UPS Foundation Professor of Service Management at Harvard Business School. Professor Frei joined Athena for three days, and delivered a Power Talk lecture entitled, Reverence: Leading Organizations with Excellence and Integrity.
In September, 2011, the Athena Center will welcome Charlayne Hunter-Gault. Ms. Hunter-Gault will also deliver our first Power Talk lecture of the fall on September 14, 2011.
